So the little taste of spring we had here in GA was a complete tease! This weekend has consisted of 45 degree temperatures and gloomy rain. Ugh. Sunshine and warm temperatures, please feel free to return quickly! I'm sure we are all ready for spring, especially since this has probably been the coldest winter we've had in a while!
Anyway, on a better note, I've been babysitting tonight and it has been absolutely relaxing. It's such a joy to be around children who are well behaved, easy going, and just plain fun. Children who helped their parents load up the car before they left for the evening and took good care of their dogs all night! Such great responsibility at such young ages!
They were perfectly fine with keeping things low key and chatting about school, classmates, and birthday parties while watching recorded American Idol episodes and a game of "Horse-opoly". They made sure I felt comfortable in their home-I was offered snacks, glasses of water, blankets, and girl scout cookies-they were truly concerned about my happiness. These girls were respectful, caring, and full of personality.
It's such a wonderful thing to see two young girls (ages 10 and 12) with such passion for others and life itself. It's refreshing to know that their parents serve as great role models and leaders-I can definitely tell by the awesome behavior of these girls. It gives me a lot to look forward to and a taste of what kind of parent I want to be someday-not anytime soon, of course! :)
I am also really really really excited because our newlywed nest is *almost* finished with renovations! The flooring, carpet and countertops are underway...and...again...I fail to provide photos. I am very sorry about this and I will get some this week to share, since David and I will probably start moving more stuff over there very soon! Feel free to shoot me a text or facebook message to remind me! ;)
That's all for now, the parents of the kids I'm babysitting tonight should be getting home soon. Check back for updates with photos of the house and a new recipe!
love & gummybears
(that's the only dangerous thing about babysitting...the pantry is stocked with junk food that I keep snacking on!)
