greek turkey burgers with cucumber dill sauce

If you haven't already, you need to check out the Tasty Kitchen blog. It is a blog full of recipes posted by people everywhere. The good thing about this blog is that people usually post pictures of their recipes so viewers can judge if the food looks good enough to make (and eat).

I was browsing around for a yummy dinner recipe for the hubs and I one day when I stumbled upon this Greek Turkey Burger recipe on Tasty Kitchen. I happen to love Greek flavors and David happens to love turkey burgers so I said to myself "we have a winner". We even had most of the ingredients. Double winner. So here goes!

For the burgers:

*1 package lean ground turkey (around 20 ounces)

*1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

*1/4 cup diced sweet onion (or as much as you want)

*1/4 cup sliced mushrooms

*1 whole egg

*1/4 cup bread crumbs

*5 ounces crumbled feta cheese

*Salt and pepper to taste

For the sauteed onions:

*Diced sweet onion

*Olive oil

For the cucumber dill sauce (I just guessed on the measurements):

*6-8 ounces fat free plain yogurt

*Grated cucumber (we used a fairly small one from our garden)

*Lemon juice

*Olive oil

*Salt and pepper to taste

*Dill seasoning

Method:

Mix all burger ingredients together in a mixing bowl. Form patties with your hands and place on an oiled skillet or grill. Meanwhile, sautee onions in olive oil and mix together cucumber dill sauce. When burgers are done, place in a bun with cucumber dill sauce, onions, and maybe a slice of fresh tomato! Enjoy.
